R&S®ZVB Vector Network Analyzers

Frequency ranges from 300 kHz to 4 GHz, 8 GHz, 14 GHz and 20 GHz, with two or four test ports

Features

Modern user interface

The complex measurement tasks encountered in network analysis, in particular in multiport applications, call for a straightforward and intuitive operating concept. The R&S®ZVB features an easy-to-grasp operating concept that is advantageous especially for untrained or infrequent users. This concept simplifies the handling of the large number of ports, test parameters, diagrams, traces, and extensive functions involved in complex network analysis tasks. Even users skilled in network analysis will appreciate the R&S®ZVB's intelligent and user-friendly operating concept.

Complex measurement task

In addition to the tried-and-tested operation via hardkeys and softkeys, the R&S®ZVB offers a Windows-based user interface allowing full control by means of mouse-operated pulldown menus. Mouse operation and the hardkey/softkey concept have a nearly identical structure. The desired function is thus at exactly the same position in the pulldown or the softkey menu. Dialogs help you conveniently manage the large number of test ports, parameters, diagrams, traces, etc., involved in complex network analysis. The R&S®ZVB's measurement wizard guides you step by step through the test setup to create the configuration you want, e.g. for calibration and measurements on balanced DUTs. Using the wizard, you can completely configure the R&S®ZVB to display all 16 mixed-mode S-parameters of a balanced two-port in virtually no time. By means of only a few keystrokes or mouse clicks and without changing between menus, you can quickly configure the display by assigning traces to specific diagrams and channels as required.

The SUPPORT hardkey group offers you auxiliary functions such as online help, product information, and a complete listing of current instrument setups including calibration. The context-sensitive online help is included in the software update, and thus always provides you with the latest information, e.g. about instrument functions. A unique feature is the R&S®ZVB’s ability to cancel a series of operating steps by means of the UNDO key. This even includes presets. The time-consuming and tedious reconfiguration of a setup after an operator error is therefore no longer necessary. Moreover, a versatile trace mathematics function is available by which you can link any desired traces in virtually any way. You can store the equations you have generated and transfer them to other instruments.
